Mr Foster

Head teacher

Mr. Foster is our new head teacher. He joined us from St. John Boste School in September 2006. There have been lots of changes since Mr Foster became Headteacher, including getting our Minibus and having lots of fun new after-school clubs. We LOVE having him here at St. Michael's.

Father O'Gorman

Father Bill is our Parish Priest. He prays each Tuesday morning with the staff and visits each class on a Thursday. We LOVE it when Father Bill visits because we can stop working and have a chat. Father Bill is excellent at answering our questions about Jesus and the world - he really helps us to understand and make sense of things. Father Bill also celebrates Mass with us each Sunday, and on special Holy Days. Father Bill is helped in his work with us by Christine Loughton - she is a very special friend of our school.

Mrs Abbott

Year 6

Mrs Abbot is a caring and generous person.  She has a nice smile and she is good at making everyone laugh.  She is in charge of Maths in the school.  She has taught in St.  Michael's for twelve years.

Mrs Ferguson

Mrs Ferguson teaches Year One. She is also in charge of R.E. within the school - she worked VERY hard to help us through our recent R.E. OFSTED inspection. Mrs F. loves to sing and play the guitar.

Miss Askew

Year 5

Miss Askew is our Literacy co-ordinator - she is working hard to help us improve our writing skills! Miss Askew has been in Y5 for 4 years, but before that she was in Y2.  Miss Askew runs our Tag-Rugby Club and our Drama Workshops.

Mrs Gibbons

Year 4

Miss Gibbons is Deputy Head of St. Michael's, she is also the Year Four class teacher. Miss Gibbons used to come to St. Michael's when she was a little girl, and she liked it so much she came back here to teach!

Miss Horn

Year 3

Miss Horn is the Year Three teacher. She is spectacular too!! She has been teaching at St. Michael's for just over a year and we think she is very kind. Miss Horn is in charge of ICT and Geography. Miss Horn (and the other Miss Horne) run the ICT club. Also, Miss Horn runs our school Eco Club.

Mrs Murray

Year 2

Mrs Murray teaches in Year Two. We think she is lovely, kind and SPECTACULAR!! She has been at St. Michael's for 5 years. She is in charge of PE and PSHCE (Pastoral Groups). Mrs Murray also supports our School Council and organises our Active Playtimes.

Mrs Wylie

Reception

Mrs Wylie is  Foundation Stage Co-ordinator - she looks after all of our new recruits! Mrs Wylie runs our Irish Dancing club, and organised for us to have a cheerleading club.

Mrs Weatherall

Mrs Weatherall teaches each morning in Year 5 - she is helping to improve Literacy and Numeracy skills.

Mrs Boyle

Mrs Boyle teaches in different classes on an afternoon. She is in charge of History and is always thinking of ways to make this fun to learn about. Mrs B runs our Key Stage 1 Computer Club.

Mrs Flynn

Mrs Flynn teaches in Year 5 and Year 6 on an afternoon. She has just returned after her maternity leave, and it's great to have her back!

Mrs Bennett

Mrs Bennett helps Mrs Abbott prepare Year Six for the scary SATs. Mrs Bennett's three children all came to St. Michael's and she was  involved with our PTA  for many years.

Mrs Emmerson

Mrs Emmerson worked in Reception class for a long time, but now she works with Mrs Ferguson in Year One. Mrs Emmerson is very trendy and wears lovely jewellery. She looks after us each lunchtime and gives us medicine if we feel poorly.

Mrs Soulsby

Mrs Soulsby works in Reception with Mrs Wylie and Mrs Wilkinson. Mrs Soulsby is responsible for many of the BEAUTIFUL displays around the school.

Mrs Mackintosh

Mrs Mackintosh works as a teaching assistant mainly in Year Three. Mrs Mack is also responsible for many of the lovely displays around our school.

Mrs Purdham

Mrs Purdham works in Year Two with Mrs Murray she has worked in St. Michael's for 13 years. She is always very caring and looks after us if we hurt ourselves on the yard.

Mrs Wilkinson

Mrs Wilkinson works in Reception class with Mrs Wylie and Mrs Soulsby. She has just joined St. Michael's, but already she's part of our family here!

Mrs Holly

Mrs Holly works with Miss Gibbons in Year Four. She's just joined St. Michael's school, but she loves it here already. Mrs Holly helps out at our Eco Club.

Mrs Cowell

Mrs Cowell works with Miss Gibbons and Mrs Holly in Year Four. Mrs Cowell is on our school PTA and often runs our PTA discos.

Mrs McCormack

Mrs McCormack is our school secretary and does a great job keeping the school organised.  She is very busy but always smiling!  Mrs McCormack joined us from St. Roberts and is a lovely addition to our staff.

Everyone here at St. Michael's is supported by our Governing Team. They work to improve our school, and keep up our high standards.

Mr Watchman & Mrs Curry

Mr Watchman is our site-manager; he looks after our school buildings, helped by Mrs Curry who is our cleaner.

We also have a dedicated team of lunchtime supervisors and cooks who ensure that our meal times run smoothly.
