St. Michael's School Council

We have had a School Council at St. Michael's for a number of years. Each class used to vote for two representatives, but we recently changed this to selecting two members from each Pastoral Group. This means that we can use some of the time we spend with our Pastoral Group to discuss issues with the School Council.

The School Council meets twice every half-term to discuss relevant issues and improvements. The Council liases with the Governors, the Teacher and the Headteacher Mr Foster and seeks to make our school and even better place!

Recent successes include requesting and receiving lockers for the children in Year 6 to use, ordering playground equipment to support our Active Playgrounds. Currently we are looking at changing school uniform and organising a non-uniform fundraising day.

Date of next meeting: Thursday 20th March 2008
